#Creative Rebels

Updated: Nov 8

By coincidence I listened to this episode of the Creative Rebels podcast during production and realised that the guest - Kimberly Wilson - was one of my fellow traders when I first started selling fudge at Walthamstow Village Market. Kimberly sold her jam (which was also a Great Taste Award winner) on Orford Road and made the first doughnuts ever to be filled with Sweetmeat Inc. Fudge Sauce.

This is a long podcast with some detailed brain science, but early on, Kimberly talks about feeding the brain, quite literally, in order to help it to function, which felt particularly timely given last week's drive for food donations to help children in food poverty during half term.

As you may or may not know, we're close to finishing renovations on 1418 - what will soon be Chancer's Cafe - and once we're in and set up we're going to look at ways we can offer more long term help for families struggling financially with hot meals and healthy food provisions.

A lot of you offered to do more last week and we'll keep you posted if our eventual plan needs some extra hands.
